Math Teacher in New Orleans, LA

This position requires ready-to-go educators with a current, active Louisiana DOE certification. Your experience and expertise will help shape high school students’ understanding and enthusiasm for mathematics. New educators or those currently in the process of licensure are not eligible, as the district welcomes those prepared to contribute from day one.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid, active Louisiana DOE certificate (TAT not accepted; must be fully credentialed)
• Ability to pass district-specific credentialing, including drug screening and fingerprint background checks
• Comfortable with contract assignments and flexible caseloads—exact number of schools and students to be determined
• High school teaching experience preferred; strong classroom management and instructional skills essential
• Commitment to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Deliver general mathematics instruction to high school students, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement lesson plans that promote critical thinking and problem-solving
• Monitor student progress, assess comprehension, and adjust teaching methods as needed
• Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to support student achievement
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with district requirements

You’ll work roughly 35 hours each week—Monday through Friday—with a half-hour lunch break, all while shaping the next generation in a well-supported school environment.
