Science Science Gen Ed Teacher - Norristown, PA

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Pennsylvania certification in Environmental Science content area
• Previous teaching experience in general or environmental science, especially at the secondary level
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage diverse learners
• A collaborative spirit and commitment to fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom

Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver dynamic environmental science lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking
• Assess student progress through both formative and summative evaluations
• Incorporate real-world connections to help students understand the impact of science in their daily lives
• Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects and streamline science curriculum
• Support the school’s mission to educate students within an African-centered context, integrating culturally relevant teaching practices
