English Language Arts 7th Grade Gen Ed Teacher - Norristown, Pennsylvania

Step into a vital role shaping the minds of 7th grade students as an English Language Arts (ELA) teacher in a dynamic school environment. This contract position is ideal for educators passionate about inspiring young learners and adept at fostering literacy, communication, and a love for reading. With a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:15am to 4:15pm (40 hours per week), you’ll deliver engaging ELA instruction using the Core Reading Program, EL, to a caseload of 20 to 26 students.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience teaching ELA at the middle school level, specifically with 7th grade.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, adapt, and implement curriculum for diverse learners.
• Preferably holds a valid Instructional I or II certification in ELA; candidates with emergency certification and significant experience will also be considered.
• Independent, self-motivated educator—this position is best for those confident in ELA instruction without intensive supervision.

Your Responsibilities:

• Teach ELA to a class of 7th grade students, following the EL Core Reading Program.
• Develop daily lesson plans and adapt materials to meet student needs.
• Assess, monitor, and support students’ academic progress in reading, writing, and language.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings as needed.
