Gen Ed Teacher - Norwich, CT

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a full-time General Education Teacher, serving as a substitute and floater across multiple K-8 classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position spans from late August to early June, providing consistent hours Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 3:15 pm. As a floater, you’ll embrace the variety and excitement of assisting students and supporting fellow educators throughout the school.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in teaching or a related field
• Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification
• Adaptability and enthusiasm for working across grade levels (K-8)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Previous experience in a classroom preferred but not required
• Willingness to quickly integrate into new classrooms and build rapport with diverse groups of students

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction and supervision in a variety of general education settings
• Step in for classroom teachers as needed, following established lesson plans and fostering a positive learning environment
• Support teachers with small-group instruction, classroom management, and daily routines
• Collaborate with staff and administration to contribute to a supportive, inclusive school community
• Adapt to different educational materials and teaching styles while maintaining consistency for students
