Key Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Math endorsement covering, at minimum, 5th and 6th grade mathematics
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in teaching upper elementary or middle school mathematics
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a supportive, positive learning environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school staff

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the classroom for 5th and 6th grade mathematics, delivering clear and engaging direct instruction each day
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ needs and curriculum standards
  • Administer and grade assessments to monitor student progress, providing timely feedback
  • Cultivate a classroom culture focused on respect, curiosity, and active participation
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and families to support student achievement
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assignments, and student performance

This contract role offers a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday. Your compensation will reflect your experience and degree level, with hourly rates ranging from $37.50 to $46.75.
