Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Math endorsement suitable for teaching at least grades 5 and 6
  • Previous experience working with upper elementary or middle school students strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of grade-level math curriculum and best instructional practices
  • Ability to maintain a positive learning environment while managing the daily responsibilities of the classroom

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based math instruction to 5th and 6th grade students
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans that accommodate different learning styles
  • Administer and grade regular assessments to track student progress
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate that encourages participation and confidence in math skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate regularly with caregivers concerning student growth
