Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Active Pennsylvania (PA) Certification in Environmental Science content area
  • Demonstrated classroom experience teaching Science
  • Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and fostering diversity in STEM education

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Environmental Science to high school students
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles
  • Cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and academically focused classroom environment
  • Assess student progress regularly, offering meaningful feedback and differentiated support as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development to enhance the school’s STEM and African-centered mission
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students to support academic growth and school initiatives
