Take on an exciting contract opportunity as an 8th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) instructor, working with students near Philadelphia, PA for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is a chance to engage middle school learners in essential reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, shaping their academic success in a supportive and dynamic classroom environment.

The assignment spans from August 24, 2026, to June 10, 2027, following a traditional school year calendar. Your work week will consist of 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:50 am to 3:50 pm, with a 30-minute mid-day break. Earn between $33 and $45 per hour, commensurate with your qualifications and teaching experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Certification in 8th Grade English Language Arts preferred
  • Open to candidates holding out-of-state or emergency certification
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ direct experience teaching ELA at the 8th grade level
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to foster literacy growth and critical analysis in adolescent learners
  • Commitment to cultivating an inclusive and engaging academic experience
