Step into a vibrant high school setting where your expertise in general education teaching can truly make an impact. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity offers the chance to work with high school math students in a diverse and dynamic environment. Two openings are available, each offering 35 hours per week, running from the start date (ASAP) through June 10, 2027. You will play a key role in fostering academic growth, delivering well-crafted math instruction to general education learners, with occasional collaboration alongside special education professionals.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Valid teaching certification or licensure suitable for assigned math caseload
- Bachelor’s degree; eligibility for emergency teaching permit if needed
- Demonstrated mastery of high school mathematics content and teaching strategies
- At least one year of school-based teaching experience
- Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities are a must
- Experience working in urban educational settings, with adaptability and cultural competence
- Ability to create lesson plans aligned with current district and state standards
- Comfortable adhering to a set work schedule (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, no accommodations)
- Reliable transportation required
- Must be able to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Comfortable working onsite and engaging with a dynamic district environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high school math lessons to general education students
- Utilize formative assessments and differentiated instruction to drive learning outcomes
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including special education teachers where needed
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom atmosphere
- Regularly communicate academic progress to students and administrators
- Ensure compliance with all district and state educational requirements
