Take on an exciting role teaching middle school science in a dynamic environment just outside Philadelphia, PA. This full-time, onsite position runs through June 2027 and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on general education students, with occasional interaction with SPED learners (supported by designated SPED staff). You'll design and deliver lessons aligned with state and district standards, harnessing diverse instructional resources and assessment-driven differentiation. Your expertise and leadership will be vital in maintaining a productive classroom while fostering a love for science in your students.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Valid and active teaching certification/licensure for the assigned courses
- Bachelor's degree (or willingness to obtain an emergency teaching permit)
- Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional strategies and content in science
- Previous school-based teaching experience required
- Experience in urban educational settings preferred
- Understanding and comfort with district-specific standards and culture
- Ability to develop and align lesson plans with current educational standards
- Familiarity with formative assessment and differentiated instruction
- Committed to on-site hours from 8:30 AM to 4 PM, with reliable transportation
- Capable of completing all required PA clearances prior to start
