Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for a school-based opportunity in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and committed to helping each student achieve academic, social, and behavioral success. This position involves developing and implementing individualized educational programs while collaborating with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruction and Student Support
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
- Adapt curriculum, lessons, and instructional materials to meet diverse student needs.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to support student learning and engagement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Assessment and Documentation
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely educational records and documentation.
- Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
- Prepare progress reports and participate in eligibility and reevaluation processes.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and support staff.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational plans.
- Provide guidance and support regarding accommodations and modifications.
- Classroom Management
- Establish classroom routines and behavior management systems that promote student success.
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) as appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and district training programs.
- Stay current with special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Adhere to district policies, school procedures, and ethical standards of the profession.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Arkansas Special Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- School-based experience preferred but not required.

- Experience working with students with varying disabilities and learning needs.
- Strong behavior management and intervention skills.
- Proficiency in progress monitoring and data-driven instruction.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and implement accommodations effectively.
