High School Elementary Teacher in Rockville, MD

Inspire the next generation of thinkers and creators in a unique teaching opportunity! This flexible, part-time role offers the chance to introduce Chess, Robotics, and Coding to elementary, middle, and high school students in after-school programs. You'll serve multiple campuses across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, sharing your passion and expertise with enthusiastic learners from kindergarten through grade 12.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct engaging after-school sessions in Chess, Robotics, and Coding for K-12 students
• Deliver lessons that are fun, interactive, and accessible for a range of age groups
• Adapt content to fit the abilities and interests of your students
• Travel between campuses in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas (approximately 10 in total)
• Communicate routinely with school staff and program coordinators for scheduling and feedback
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Qualifications:

• Experience as a general education teacher at the elementary, middle, or high school level
• Strong background and enthusiasm for Chess, Robotics, and/or Coding
• Creative lesson planning and classroom management skills
• Ability to build rapport with students of varying backgrounds and abilities
• Flexible availability between 3-6pm (sessions typically 5-10 hours per week after school)
• Willingness and means to commute to various local campuses
• Organized, reliable, and excellent communication skills
