High School Middle School Gen Ed Teacher - Silver Spring, MD

Key Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or working with K-12 students in general education settings, including elementary, middle, or high school.
• Background in chess instruction, robotics principles, and/or introductory coding (Scratch, Python, or similar platforms) strongly preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to campuses in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, within the region.
• Flexible and adaptive, comfortable teaching in a diverse range of school environments.
• Able to commit to 5-10 hours per week, typically after school between 3-6pm.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead engaging after-school classes in chess, robotics, and coding at multiple campuses (up to 10 possible locations).
• Prepare and implement lesson plans tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
• Inspire students to develop analytical, technical, and collaborative skills.
• Communicate progress and encourage participation from all learners.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that motivates and supports students at all ability levels.
