Enthusiastic about inspiring young minds in STEM and strategic thinking? This rewarding opportunity focuses on teaching Chess, Robotics, and Coding to students from kindergarten through 12th grade on a part-time, contract basis. Working across multiple campuses, you will help ignite curiosity and cultivate essential problem-solving skills in a supportive, engaging after-school environment.
Your role will include leading fun and educational sessions for groups of inquisitive students, fostering learning through hands-on activities, puzzles, and teamwork. You’ll organize lessons and activities that spark creativity and support each child’s growth, whether they are just learning the basics or ready for advanced projects.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Background in general education or subject-specific teaching (Elementary, Middle, or High School level)
- Experience with Chess, Robotics, and/or Coding instruction
- Comfortable working with students ranging from K-12
- Exceptional communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to commute between locations in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia
- Flexible, reliable, and passionate about extracurricular education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Chess, Robotics, and Coding lessons to K-12 students
- Adapt teaching style to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
- Travel between approximately 10 different campuses for after-school programs
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment
- Encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and enthusiasm for problem-solving
