High School Middle School Teacher in Silver Spring, MD

Inspire the next generation of problem solvers and innovators as a part-time Chess, Robotics, and Coding Teacher for K-12 students. You’ll facilitate engaging classes across various campuses in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, with a flexible schedule of 5-10 hours per week.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience teaching in a general education setting at the elementary, middle, or high school level
• Passion for working with K-12 students, fostering both academic and personal growth
• Ability to instruct chess, robotics, or coding to groups of varying ages and skill levels
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
• Reliable transportation and willingness to commute among multiple campuses in the region
• Organizational skills and punctuality for after-school sessions

Responsibilities:

• Lead engaging and interactive lessons focusing on chess strategies, robotics basics, and coding fundamentals
• Create a positive class environment that encourages learning, curiosity, and collaboration
• Manage up to 10 different campus assignments as scheduled, typically between 3-6pm on weekdays
• Adapt instructional methods to suit diverse students and age groups
• Track student progress and communicate effectively with program coordinators
