Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, Music Education, or related field
  • Valid teaching certification, or eligibility to obtain certification in Alaska
  • Experience teaching Math at the secondary level (grades 7-12) is highly preferred
  • Background in music education, with the ability to lead choir and band ensembles
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for working with both a traditional and Montessori approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Math lessons aligned with relevant curriculum standards to secondary students at Kenai Central High School
  • Provide vibrant music instruction, including choir, general music classes, and some band, at both contributing locations
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
  • Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere where all students feel supported and challenged
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and parents to support student growth and school initiatives
  • Participate in school events, performances, and professional development opportunities
