Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Secondary ELA and Social Studies or eligibility to obtain credentials
  • Prior classroom experience teaching grades 7–12 in English Language Arts and/or Social Studies
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and an enthusiasm for working in a culturally rich, rural community
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and support extracurricular activities is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver effective lessons in ELA and Social Studies aligned to curriculum standards
  • Assess student progress using a variety of strategies; adjust instruction as needed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and grades
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff about academic progress and classroom activities
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events
