Seeking an enthusiastic and experienced educator to provide high school English Language Arts instruction for the upcoming school year! This full-time contract opportunity is centered on supporting students in grades 9 through 12 with engaging, standards-based ELA curriculum. You’ll help foster a foundation for lifelong literacy, critical thinking, and creative expression, working alongside a passionate team of educators dedicated to student success.
Qualifications:
- Active teaching certification or license in English Language Arts (High School 7–12 or 9–12)
- Prior experience instructing high school students is highly valued
- Solid understanding of current ELA pedagogy, lesson planning, and differentiated instruction
- Strong classroom management abilities and a commitment to maintaining a positive learning environment
- Collaborative mindset for working with administration, department colleagues, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and record-keeping skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver dynamic ELA instruction tailored to students’ various learning needs and aligned with state standards
- Develop and implement lesson plans that challenge and inspire high school learners
- Regularly assess student performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate grading records
- Use diverse instructional strategies to reach all learning styles and foster academic growth
- Promote a classroom culture that encourages respect, engagement, and personal responsibility
- Partner with school staff and families to support each learner’s development and achievements
This position offers a full-time (37.5 hours/week) contract schedule during the 2026–2027 academic year, starting in fall 2026.
