This part-time contract position, spanning the full school year, offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by mentoring students and promoting physical wellness. You’ll engage directly with student-athletes, collaborating with staff and working closely with the Athletic Director to ensure a high standard of care and compliance with all applicable athletic regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Washington State Athletic Trainer Licensure (current and in good standing)
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an institution approved by the Washington Secretary of Health
- Expertise in physical education instruction at the high school level
- Solid understanding of WIAA rules, sport-specific regulations, and related clinics, trainings, and expectations
- Ability to obtain or possess valid first aid certificate, CPR card, and AED training as required by state and district standards
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide physical education instruction and oversee athletic training for high school teams
- Implement and enforce WIAA rules and guidelines to ensure student and program compliance
- Maintain records, track student participation, and coordinate clinics or required trainings
- Respond to student injuries, administer first aid, and ensure safety protocols are followed during practices and competitions
- Partner with coaches, educators, and parents to support student-athlete well-being and performance
- Deliver regular updates, incident reports, and communicate effectively with the Athletic Director
