6th Grade Art General Education Teacher | Tinley Park, Illinois

Inspire creativity and foster a love of art in young learners as a 5th/6th Grade General Education Art Teacher on a contract basis. Work full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday) and guide students through engaging and educational experiences in art. Create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment, deliver high-quality lessons, and empower students to express themselves while developing their artistic skills.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Art endorsement (covering, at minimum, 5th and 6th grades)
• Experience or coursework related to General Education teaching, specifically within art
• Ability to manage and motivate a classroom of middle-grade students
• Strong organizational and communication skills

What You'll Do:

• Lead the 5th and 6th grade art classes, establishing an inclusive, creative, and effective learning environment
• Develop, plan, and implement engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards
• Administer and grade assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
• Foster a positive classroom culture with clear expectations and respectful interactions
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide projects as needed
• Support individual students and adapt lessons for varying needs and abilities

Compensation for this contract opportunity is $37.50–$46.75 per hour, depending on your experience, level of education, and licensure.
