Social Studies 8th Grade Gen Ed Teacher - Tinley Park, Illinois

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL), with a Social Studies endorsement covering at least grades 7 and 8.
• Experience teaching, or strong background in, middle school social studies curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment for young adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver effective Social Studies instruction for 7th and 8th grade students.
• Manage daily classroom activities and maintain a productive learning environment.
• Administer, grade, and analyze assessments to guide instruction.
• Encourage student participation, critical thinking, and collaborative discussion.
• Communicate regularly with colleagues and families regarding student progress.

This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, with working hours between 7:30 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM for a total of 37.5 hours each week. Depending on your experience and credentials, compensation is highly competitive, ranging from $37.50 to $46.75 per hour.
