English as a Second Language (ESL) 5th Grade General Education Teacher | Tinley Park, Illinois

Step into an engaging role guiding students in grades 5–8 as an English Language and ESL teacher. This contract opportunity provides a dynamic split position, with half your time devoted to eager learners in middle school (5th–6th grade) and the other half supporting students in junior high (7th–8th grade). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in general education and ESL, adeptly leading the classroom and nurturing language acquisition skills in a diverse student population.

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL endorsement covering, at minimum, grades 5th–8th
• Preference is given to those with a bilingual PEL endorsement
• Background in teaching general education and/or ESL
• Experience with both middle and junior high grade levels
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver clear, direct instruction and facilitate engaging lessons suited for English learners
• Administer and objectively grade tests, assignments, and assessments

Compensation:
This position offers a pay range between $37.50 and $46.75 per hour, commensurate with experience, degree, and licensure.
