Essential Qualifications:

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese; native or near-native proficiency is strongly preferred
• Previous experience in classroom teaching or education
• Skill in designing and delivering engaging, student-centered instruction
• Strong communication abilities and a collaborative spirit
• Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students and contributing to a supportive school community

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in teaching within public or public charter schools
• Familiarity with Humanities, International Studies, or related disciplines
• Experience working with diverse student groups
• Knowledge of inquiry-based, project-based, or culturally responsive teaching methods
• Ability to integrate Mandarin language instruction with Humanities or global studies curricula

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and implementing Mandarin Chinese and I&S lessons in alignment with school curriculum and learning goals
• Creating dynamic lessons that build students’ language skills, critical thinking, and cultural awareness
• Differentiating instruction to support students at various proficiency levels
• Incorporating authentic Chinese-language resources, cultural viewpoints, and relevant global issues into daily instruction
• Assessing student progress and offering timely, constructive feedback
• Collaborating with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning and overall student achievement
• Fostering a positive, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment
• Participating in school meetings, professional development sessions, and community events as needed
