Social Studies Teacher in West Chester, PA

Take your expertise in Social Studies to the next level at a dynamic high school setting, working with engaged students and a dedicated faculty. This full-time contract position offers 35 hours each week onsite, starting August 24, 2026, and continuing through June 10, 2027. You’ll guide students in mastering curriculum-aligned content, nurture critical thinking, and create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active teaching certification/licensure for the assigned caseload
• Bachelor’s degree required (to obtain an emergency teaching permit if needed)
• Previous experience working in a school environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain all Pennsylvania clearances
• Capable of designing and delivering standards-aligned lesson plans with assessment and differentiation
• Demonstrated mastery of Social Studies subject matter and instructional methods
• Proven strength in classroom and behavioral management, especially in urban school settings
• Comfort working with district and location-specific expectations
• Reliable transportation to the worksite
• Availability for a full-time schedule between 8:30AM–4PM onsite, without schedule accommodations
• Willingness to participate in a virtual interview process

Your Day-to-Day:

• Deliver engaging, effective Social Studies instruction to high school students
• Develop formative assessments and tailor instruction to meet student needs
• Foster a positive, respectful learning environment
• Utilize school resources and technology to enhance classroom experiences
• Maintain compliance with state, district, and school policies
• Engage collegially with faculty, staff, students, and families
