Position Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging ELA lessons aligned with South Carolina state standards and district curriculum.
- Deliver instruction in reading comprehension, literature, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and communication skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and participation.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs and learning styles of students.
- Assess student progress through formal and informal evaluations and maintain accurate records of performance.
- Utilize data-driven instructional practices to improve student outcomes.
- Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, support staff, and families to support student success.
- Maintain classroom management procedures that encourage respectful and productive learning.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and instructional best practices.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred
- Previous teaching experience in a general education classroom.
- Experience developing standards-based lesson plans and assessments.
