Virtual General Education Teacher | New York

A specialized opportunity is available for a General Education Teacher certified in Foreign Languages with an endorsement in Italian to provide instruction to a high school student who is homebound. This contract role involves delivering personalized one-on-one teaching for an Italian 1 course, ensuring the student's continued academic growth in language studies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering Italian 1 curriculum tailored to individual student needs
• Facilitating instruction during the school day to adhere to educational guidelines
• Managing lesson planning, assessment, and progress tracking for the student
• Collaborating with educational staff as needed to support student achievement

Qualifications and skills sought:

• Valid Initial Certification in Classroom Teacher – Foreign Languages with an Italian endorsement (grades 7–12) or an equivalent certification that specifies Italian in the subject area
• Experience teaching Italian as part of the general education program preferred
• Ability to engage and motivate high school students in a one-on-one setting
• Strong communication skills and adaptability to meet student needs

Position details:

• Part-time, approximately 5 hours weekly
