Job Description

A New Mexico school district is seeking an innovative Virtual Gifted Education Teacher | Remote Advanced Learning Specialist to provide engaging enrichment and accelerated learning opportunities for high-achieving students. This full-time remote teaching position is designed for an educator who enjoys developing challenging curriculum, encouraging critical thinking, and helping gifted learners reach their full academic potential.

The successful candidate will provide virtual instruction, collaborate with classroom teachers and families, and create meaningful learning experiences that support creativity, problem-solving, and advanced academic growth. Responsibilities

• Provide virtual gifted education instruction and enrichment opportunities for identified students.
• Develop challenging, differentiated lessons that support advanced learners.
• Design learning activities focused on critical thinking, creativity, research, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to support student goals.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on individual learning needs.
• Participate in virtual meetings, educational planning sessions, and student conferences.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to student services and progress.

• Strong understanding of gifted education strategies and differentiated instruction.
• Ability to create engaging virtual learning experiences.

• Comfortable using online teaching platforms and educational technology.

Qualifications

• New Mexico Gifted Education endorsement or eligibility.
• Valid New Mexico teaching license.
• Knowledge of gifted identification, enrichment programming, and advanced learning strategies.
• Ability to provide instruction in a virtual classroom environment.

Experience

• Previous experience teaching gifted or advanced learners preferred.
• Experience developing enrichment curriculum or specialized instruction desired.
• Virtual teaching experience is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• Master’s degree or additional coursework in Gifted Education preferred.

Work Hours

8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Mountain Time
37.5 hours per week
