Step into an essential role supporting the educational experience of a middle school student requiring American Sign Language interpretation and related support this upcoming academic year. This contract to hire opportunity begins September 31, 2026, and extends through June 11, 2027, with anticipated part-time weekly hours and a dynamic schedule across various middle school classrooms and community environments.
As the dedicated interpreter, you’ll facilitate communication for a single student, ensuring equitable access to both academic instruction and social-emotional learning. You will work closely with educators and support staff, alternating between classroom settings and community transition programs depending on the student’s schedule and needs.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or applicable credentials for school settings
- Recent experience interpreting for middle school-aged students or similar age groups
- Solid grasp of educational settings and the unique demands of academic and social-emotional interpretation
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to different learning environments
- Flexibility to shift between middle school and community transition locations as required
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
Role Responsibilities:
