This full-time contract opportunity offers 37.5 hours per week, working closely with 1-2 high school students to ensure full access to classroom content and communication. You’ll play a vital role in facilitating learning and social interaction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, making a meaningful impact every day.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting skills
  • Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting preferred
  • Certification or licensure as required by state or national standards
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the needs of high school students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Reliability and commitment to a full school-year contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities between teachers, students, and staff
  • Support students during group work, lectures, assemblies, and extracurricular activities as needed
  • Foster an inclusive educational setting by facilitating clear communication and understanding
  • Collaborate with educators and specialists to meet students’ communication needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
