Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting skills
- Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting preferred
- Certification or licensure as required by state or national standards
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the needs of high school students
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Reliability and commitment to a full school-year contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities between teachers, students, and staff
- Support students during group work, lectures, assemblies, and extracurricular activities as needed
- Foster an inclusive educational setting by facilitating clear communication and understanding
- Collaborate with educators and specialists to meet students’ communication needs
