Make a real difference in students’ lives by providing vital communication support as a Sign Language Interpreter for high schoolers in a vibrant educational setting. This full-time, contract opportunity spans the 2026/2027 academic year, offering 37.5 hours per week working closely with one to two students in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification or equivalent training as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably with high school students
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with teaching staff and support teams
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet student needs throughout the school day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear, accurate, and timely interpretation between students and staff in classroom and school-related activities
  • Support students’ educational and social inclusion by effectively bridging communication gaps
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards for interpreters, ensuring student privacy and trust
  • Assist with preparation of materials or resources to enhance the student’s learning experience
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and other educational professionals to support student progress and participation
