Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Interpreter, preferably in an educational setting
• Professional background working as a Braillist, with proficiency in Braille transcription and production
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly
• Familiarity with assistive technology and tools for students with visual impairments is highly desired
• Ability to manage confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Commitment to promoting inclusivity and supporting different learning needs
• Flexibility to adapt to varying classroom and student requirements
• Relevant certifications or training in interpreting and/or Braille are a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver interpreting services to facilitate effective communication for students and staff
• Transcribe instructional materials, student assignments, and exams into Braille
• Collaborate with educators to ensure accessible content and support student learning
• Assist with the use and troubleshooting of assistive technology devices for students
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of services provided
• Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs)
