Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as an Interpreter, preferably in an educational setting
- Professional background working as a Braillist, with proficiency in Braille transcription and production
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly
- Familiarity with assistive technology and tools for students with visual impairments is highly desired
- Ability to manage confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity and supporting different learning needs
- Flexibility to adapt to varying classroom and student requirements
- Relevant certifications or training in interpreting and/or Braille are a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver interpreting services to facilitate effective communication for students and staff
- Transcribe instructional materials, student assignments, and exams into Braille
- Collaborate with educators to ensure accessible content and support student learning
- Assist with the use and troubleshooting of assistive technology devices for students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of services provided
- Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs)
