Make a direct impact in students’ educational journeys as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting high schoolers for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with 1-2 students within a dynamic and supportive school environment. You'll help foster communication and inclusion through expertly delivered interpreting services.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • National or state certification in Sign Language Interpreting (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), along with strong receptive and expressive skills
  • Previous experience working as an interpreter in school settings is preferred
  • Familiarity with high school curriculum and student support needs
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and collaborative approach with educators and students

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, confidential interpretation for students who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing in high school classrooms and related activities
  • Support educational access by interpreting instruction, discussions, announcements, and peer interactions
  • Work closely with teaching staff to prepare for lessons and adapt communication as needed
  • Advocate for students’ communication needs while fostering independence
  • Maintain detailed, confidential records and ensure compliance with school policies
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required
