What we're seeking:
- Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) with experience in school settings
- Strong ability to facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers, classmates, and support staff
- Current certification or licensure, as required by the state
- Passion for empowering high school-age learners and supporting their unique educational journeys
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Reliability and professionalism in all interactions
Your core responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for assigned high school students throughout the school day
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate closely with educators and special education teams to ensure individualized support
- Assist students in understanding and engaging with the academic curriculum
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all settings
