This full-time opportunity runs from ASAP through May 29, 2026, and offers the unique chance to help students in grades K-5 access their education in a meaningful way. Every day will bring variety, as you move throughout the school assisting various students and fostering communication that empowers learning and growth.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a school interpreter
  • Demonstrated proficiency with an EIPA score of 3.3 or higher
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, ideally within K-5 classroom settings
  • Ability to adapt interpreting techniques to suit different instructional activities and student needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting student privacy

Core Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • Accompany students as they move between different classes or activities throughout the day
  • Facilitate communication between students, classmates, and school personnel
  • Support inclusive learning by ensuring equal access to all educational content and programs
  • Consult with teaching staff regarding student needs and progress
  • Assist with various communication needs during assemblies, special events, and school functions
  • Document services provided and participate in IEP meetings as required
