Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (ASL proficiency required)
• Previous experience in educational settings, especially with middle school students, is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Flexibility to work in various classroom and community environments
• Commitment to student advocacy and inclusive learning

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver real-time ASL interpretation for a primary student in academic and community settings
• Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff, promoting inclusion
• Provide ongoing academic and social-emotional support as part of the student's educational team
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adhere to school guidelines and protocols
• Adapt to varying classroom needs between approximately 9:00 am–12:15 pm Monday–Friday, with possibility of extended hours on select days
• Transition between middle school classrooms and community-based programs as assigned
