This vital role runs from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering consistent, full-time hours—35 per week—in a school setting near Fontana, CA.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a strong command of interpreting in educational settings
- Experience working as an Educational Interpreter or Hearing Impaired Specialist is highly desirable
- Credential or certification as a school-based interpreter or teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing is preferred
- Ability to accurately interpret classroom instruction and facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and educational accommodations for D/HH students
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and adaptability in varied classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret instructional content for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in both group and one-on-one situations
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success
- Assist with the preparation of materials and resources needed for accessible instruction
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute input regarding communication needs and support strategies
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards while fostering a supportive student relationship
