Bring your expertise as a Braillist and Interpreter to support students in need of accessible educational materials for a school district near Fort Worth, TX. This contract-based opportunity offers flexibility, allowing for a virtual working arrangement and a manageable commitment of approximately 10 hours per week.

Your primary responsibility will be ensuring swift turnaround on Braille materials, consistently preparing content 1-2 weeks in advance of curriculum delivery. You will collaborate closely with the Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and ensure all tasks stay organized and on schedule. If you are detail-oriented, capable of balancing multiple tasks, and passionate about accessible education, this could be the perfect fit.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency in interpreting and Braille transcription for K-12 environments
  • Demonstrated ability to produce materials quickly and efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to stay ahead of curriculum needs
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to work closely with a TVI and educational teams
  • Familiarity with specialized technology and software, such as the Rogue Embosser, Duxbury Software, HMH (Reading/Math), and STEM resources, is highly beneficial
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
