A full-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Multilingual Learner Teacher (ELL/ESL) at the middle school level, located near Greenwood, IN. You’ll collaborate and consult with general education teachers and provide direct instruction tailored to each student’s language proficiency and unique needs.

Qualities & Experience:

• Proven experience working as an Interpreter, Foreign Language Interpreter, or serving Multilingual Language Learners (MLL).
• Strong background in English Language Learner (ELL) or English as a Second Language (ESL) education.
• Ability to work with middle school students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Skilled in collaboration and consultation with classroom teachers to support inclusive instruction.
• Knowledge of best practices for differentiating instruction and assessment for students at various stages of language acquisition.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in more than one language is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted English language instruction to students with varying levels of proficiency, both in small group and individual settings.
• Collaborate regularly with general education teachers to modify lessons and classroom materials, ensuring accessibility for all multilingual learners.
• Interpret academic content and facilitate communication between multilingual students, their families, and staff as needed.
• Monitor student progress using appropriate assessments, maintaining detailed records and adjusting instruction as required.
• Provide expertise and resources for school staff regarding strategies to support English learners.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Learning Plans.
• Foster a welcoming, supportive environment that values and celebrates students’ native languages and cultures.
