Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in braille transcription with a proven ability to deliver materials promptly, typically aiming to stay 1-2 weeks ahead of curriculum needs.
- Experience working in educational settings, especially collaborating with Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to maintaining an efficient workflow.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and educational software such as Rogue Embosser, Duxbury Software, HMH for Reading/Math, and platforms supporting STEM subjects.
- Ability to manage tasks independently while maintaining communication with teaching staff.
- Quick turnaround capabilities and high attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and prepare braille materials for reading, math, and STEM coursework.
- Work collaboratively with TVI and other instructional staff to anticipate upcoming material needs.
- Ensure all materials are accurate, timely, and tailored to align with curriculum delivery schedules.
- Utilize software and embossers for efficient production of accessible content.
- Track and prioritize assignments, adapting as curriculum requirements evolve.
- Provide timely communication and updates regarding material status or issues.
