Elementary K-5 Interpreter | New Franken, Wisconsin

Ideal Experience and Credentials:

• National certification and proficiency as a sign language interpreter
• Experience working in K–5 educational settings
• EIPA score of 3.3 or above
• Flexibility to assist a range of students and adapt to changing classroom environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professionalism in maintaining confidentiality and upholding student privacy
• Ability to provide clear interpretation in both classroom and small-group situations
• Positive attitude and a commitment to fostering student growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Support students’ access to curriculum and participation in activities throughout the day
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, support staff, and families
• Provide feedback and insight to enhance educational outcomes for assigned students
• Uphold ethical guidelines and school policies at all times
