Your expertise will help ensure a fully accessible educational environment for a dedicated student who relies entirely on Braille resources.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Braille transcription and production.
  • Experience working as a Braillist or interpreter within an educational setting.
  • Ability to efficiently use embossing equipment, such as Rogue Embosser (preferably with 11.5 x 11 paper).
  • Familiarity with digital document management (Google Docs or similar platforms).
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage multiple assignments with accuracy.
  • Collaborative team approach and effective communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Convert classroom materials—including worksheets, spelling tests, and assignments—into Braille for student access.
  • Organize and maintain a Braille material workflow that keeps the student’s work at least two weeks ahead of the curriculum.
  • Utilize software and hardware to transfer print to Braille, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to obtain upcoming assignments and coordinate Braille material production.
  • Regularly communicate with staff to review upcoming student needs and resolve any document formatting issues.
  • Safeguard student privacy and uphold professional standards in all documentation and communication.
