Desired Qualifications:
- Current teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience working within elementary, middle, or high school settings
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and individualized support
- Ability to design and implement creative, relevant life skills curriculum
- Adept at fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Patience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons on daily living, executive functioning, social skills, and self-advocacy
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to tailor learning experiences for diverse student needs
- Track and assess student progress, adjusting instruction to maximize growth and independence
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share progress and strategies for supporting growth at home
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and empowered
