A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Life Skills Teacher to support students across multiple grade levels, including K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. This role involves delivering essential life skills instruction designed to empower students for greater independence and success both within and beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate life skills curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
  • Create engaging lesson plans focusing on practical skills such as communication, self-care, social interaction, and problem-solving.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instructional methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to support student growth and address specific challenges.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and motivating classroom environment fostering student confidence and autonomy.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Experience teaching life skills or special education students in grades K through 12.
  • Strong understanding of diverse learning styles and behavioral development across age groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to modify curriculum and teaching strategies to suit varying abilities and needs.
  • Patience, creativity, and commitment to student empowerment.
