Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching or working with students in grades K-12
  • Ability to adapt instruction to suit a variety of learning levels and special needs
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with faculty, staff, and families
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Valid teaching certification or relevant credentials (preferred)
  • Patience, creativity, and commitment to helping students achieve greater independence

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging life skills curriculum tailored to individual and group needs
  • Teach goal-setting, self-care, social skills, and vocational readiness in practical, age-appropriate ways
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximize growth
  • Document student performance and collaborate on IEPs with multidisciplinary teams
  • Support classroom management while fostering a positive and supportive environment
  • Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and resources as needed
