Grades 6 - 8 Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Life Skills Teacher - Cross City, FL

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching certification, with experience or endorsement in life skills or special education preferred
• Experience working with students in Grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Patience and flexibility in adapting lessons for diverse learning needs
• Ability to develop individualized strategies and activities tailored to each student
• Proficiency in progress monitoring and documenting student growth

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans focused on functional academics, social skills, and daily living skills
• Modifying curriculum and strategies to meet IEP goals and address individual learning requirements
• Working closely with support staff and families to ensure consistency in student care and instruction
• Providing a safe, encouraging classroom environment that fosters confidence and personal development
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress and communicating updates with team members and parents
• Participating in staff meetings and professional development to stay current on best practices
