Grades K - 5 Grades 6 - 8 Life Skills Teacher in Garland, TX

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Valid teaching certificate in Special Education, Life Skills, or related field
• Proven experience teaching life skills to students in grades K-12
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
• Creative approach to supporting students with a range of abilities
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with multidisciplinary school teams
• Passion for fostering independence and practical skills in students

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans focused on practical life skills for students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
• Adapt instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and intelligence levels
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP reviews
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Promote the acquisition of independence, social skills, communication, and daily living skills
