Grades 9 - 12 Grades K - 5 Special Education Life Skills Teacher in Garland, TX

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education or Life Skills (as required by state guidelines)
• Prior experience instructing students in grades K-5, 6-8, or 9-12
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a supportive learning environment
• Knowledge of adaptive curriculum and evidence-based teaching strategies
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Creativity, patience, and a passion for helping students of all abilities succeed

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement differentiated lessons that teach daily living, social, and academic skills
• Assess student abilities, set individualized goals, and monitor progress
• Adapt materials and instruction methods to meet a variety of learning styles and developmental levels
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and participate in IEP meetings
• Work closely with paraprofessionals and support personnel to ensure every student receives tailored assistance
