Grades K - 5 Grades 6 - 8 Life Skills Teacher in Lafayette, AL

Empower students as a Life Skills Teacher supporting learners across elementary, middle, and high school levels. Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification, with special education or life skills endorsement preferred
• Experience teaching or supporting students in grades K-12, with a passion for differentiated instruction
• Strong communication abilities with students, staff, and families
• Confident adapting lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Organizational skills for developing IEPs, tracking student progress, and maintaining records

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging life skills curriculum tailored to students in Grades K-12
• Provide direct instruction on daily living, social, and vocational skills
• Modify curriculum and assessments to accommodate individual learning needs
• Work closely with support staff, counselors, and related service providers
• Foster a positive, caring learning environment promoting growth and independence
• Regularly communicate progress to parents and participate in IEP meetings
• Adapt strategies to help each student develop self-advocacy and problem-solving skills
