K-5 Grades 9 - 12 Life Skills Special Education Teacher - Mckinney, Texas

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education or related field
• Experience instructing life skills curriculum to students in Grades K-12 preferred
• Strong communication skills with all ages
• Ability to develop individualized learning plans
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset and willingness to work with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for student success

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver life skills instruction tailored to varied developmental levels, including self-care, social interaction, and daily living skills
• Plan and implement engaging, hands-on activities adapted for diverse learners
• Assess student progress and adjust strategies to ensure meaningful improvement
• Maintain accurate records and documentation required for student support and compliance
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to support an inclusive learning environment
• Communicate regularly with families to foster student growth
