Grades 9 - 12 K-5 Life Skills Special Education Teacher - Mckinney, Texas

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification or endorsement for special education, or willingness to obtain
• Experience or education in life skills, functional academics, or transition planning
• Ability to engage students from kindergarten through high school in differentiated instruction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with teachers, support staff, and families
• Flexibility and creativity to adjust strategies to meet diverse student needs
• Previous experience in a school setting is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, practical lessons to help students build communication, social, and independent living skills
• Develop individualized plans tailored to each student’s abilities and learning objectives
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure inclusion and integration of life skills into students’ overall educational experience
• Monitor, record, and communicate student progress with staff and families
• Support students’ emotional and behavioral growth through encouragement, structure, and consistency
