Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification (special education or related endorsement preferred)
  • Experience teaching or supporting students in grades K–12, with a focus on life skills or adaptive curriculum
  • Strong classroom management strategies and ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to build rapport with students, staff, and parents
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation is highly valued
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a compassionate, patient approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate life skills lessons for students across multiple grade levels
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams
  • Track student progress and provide interventions or modifications as needed
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student independence
  • Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP/parent meetings
  • Integrate community-based instruction and real-world scenarios to enhance learning
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other teachers to support holistic student development
