Requirements & Preferred Background:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• Hold or be eligible for relevant state teaching certification
• Experience teaching or supporting students with diverse needs, preferably in a life skills program
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
• Skilled in adapting lessons for various learning styles and developmental levels
• Positive, flexible attitude with a commitment to inclusive education

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging, individualized lesson plans tailored to students in grades K–12
• Teach practical life skills, such as communication, personal care, vocational tasks, community involvement, and social-emotional regulation
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed to support continued growth
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and staff to create comprehensive support networks
• Maintain detailed records of student achievements, goals, and participation
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
• Foster a safe, respectful classroom environment that values each student’s strengths
