K-5 Grades 9 - 12 Life Skills Special Education Teacher - Palmyra, Virginia

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification appropriate for Life Skills instruction
• Experience working with students in grades K-12, preferably across a range of grade levels
• Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• Ability to create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
• Dedication to fostering student self-advocacy and independence

Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, and implement life skills curriculum tailored to individual student needs
• Facilitate engaging lessons in social skills, functional academics, and daily living activities
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with IEP goals
• Provide ongoing support to help students transfer learned skills across multiple settings
• Foster a positive learning environment that promotes dignity, respect, and self-confidence
