Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification (Special Education or related field preferred)
• Experience teaching Life Skills or special education students in grades K–12
• Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and behavioral intervention strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to varied student needs
• Organizational skills for managing classroom resources and tracking progress

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized life skills lesson plans tailored to diverse learners in grades K–12
• Adapt instruction to accommodate varying learning styles, abilities, and IEP goals
• Teach practical skills for daily living, social interaction, and self-management across multiple age groups
• Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging classroom environment
• Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and families to support students’ growth
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school initiatives
