Grades 9 - 12 K-5 Special Education Life Skills Teacher | Plano, Texas

Empower students to learn essential life skills and make a positive impact by working as a Life Skills Teacher in an engaging educational setting. This contract position focuses on supporting students in grades K–12, encouraging growth, independence, and confidence. Desired Skills & Experience:

• Teaching experience or education in life skills, special education, or a related field
• Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners across K–5, 6–8, and 9–12 grade levels
• Demonstrated classroom management and effective communication skills
• Comfort collaborating with other educators, specialists, and families
• Organizational skills and a creative, flexible approach to teaching
• Understanding of IEPs or experience supporting students with diverse needs is preferred
• Valid teaching credentials as required by state and local guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement life skills curriculum for students in elementary, middle, and high school
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction to individual learning goals
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives
