Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement or experience in Life Skills, Special Education, or related fields
  • Demonstrated background working with students in grades K–12, ideally in life skills or resource settings
  • Strong ability to create and adapt lesson plans tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families
  • Creative, patient, and dedicated to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver comprehensive life skills instruction in small group and one-on-one sessions
  • Develop individualized plans that address communication, daily living, academic, and social skills
  • Collect and track data on student growth, making data-driven adjustments to instruction
  • Collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary teams to assess student needs and progress
  • Support participation in community-based activities and transition planning as appropriate
  • Foster strong, trusting relationships with students, encouraging self-advocacy and confidence
