Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification appropriate for K–12 or specific to Life Skills or Special Education
- Experience or strong interest in working with students in elementary, middle, and/or high school settings
- Ability to tailor lessons and strategies to diverse age groups and learning styles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with students, families, and colleagues
- Adaptability and patience in developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and tracking student progress
- Knowledge of best practices in life skills curricula, sensory supports, and behavior management is a plus
Your Responsibilities:
- Create engaging and practical lesson plans focused on daily living, social interaction, and independence
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom where students feel respected and motivated to learn
- Assess student abilities and design individualized instruction to promote growth and self-advocacy
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to implement IEPs and provide holistic support
- Adapt materials and activities to meet the unique needs of each student
- Document progress, participate in meetings, and contribute to the positive school community
